The Artistry of Wood.

Local Artisan, Robert Moore, looks for the beauty in and artistry of various types of local and exotic woods and creates one of kind functional pieces from wood slabs. This includes cutting & charcuterie boards, benches, coffee & end tables, occasional & wall / entry / couch tables, bedside tables and decorative pieces.  He sources his wood slabs from local sawmills and foreign exotic wood sawmills, all of whom are committed to environmentally-sound forestry. The local sawmill sources work with valley-wide arborists to obtain logs from tree removals that would normally end up in our landfills.

As a part of Robert’s artistry, he can inlay the natural contours and flaws in the wood surface with turquoise and red coral. He also employs the use of clear or colored epoxy, if requested by a client.  He has teamed up with metal designers and fabricators to create support legs where an industrial look with wood slabs is desired by a client.

The variety of wood that Robert has worked with include Arizonan & Mexican Mesquite, Ash, Elm, Oak, Western Cedar, Walnut, Olive, Hackberry, Teak, Maple, Parota, Cocobola, Cherry, Mahogany, African Paduk, Purpleheart, Acacia and Eucalyptus.
